There is no device activation limit. Resale, sharing a key publicly, or sharing it between users may lead to revocation. For refunds, contact support; requests follow the payment provider’s process and applicable purchase terms.
One person. Unlimited Macs.
A paid license is assigned to one person.
- That person can activate it on all the Macs they use, including a company Mac, with no device limit.
- The key cannot be resold, transferred, lent or shared with other users.
For multiple users, each needs a separate license. A company may purchase licenses and assign each to one named person.
Commercial use
Using official Triwarden builds for work or business, including use on a company Mac, employer accounts or paid professional work, requires a paid license.
Personal use, including home self-hosted Vaultwarden, can remain free. After 30 days, the app may show a purchase reminder at most once a week. No features are locked.
Paid keys and the GPL
A paid key removes the official build’s purchase reminders and covers commercial use under these terms. It does not replace or limit the source code’s GPL-3.0 license.
You can build the source yourself under the GPL without purchasing a key. These paid-key terms do not limit those GPL rights. Forks must use their own name and icon.

Changes
Updated terms may apply to new purchases. Existing licenses keep the rights stated at purchase, except where misuse leads to revocation.
